Parental Involvement – Come and Join us.
We encourage involvement in your child’s learning and the work of the school. It is a vital partnership to make the school the best it can be.
This begins before your child starts in Reception. The term before your child is due to start with us you will have the opportunity to visit the school with your child for three stay and play sessions. We also encourage parents to let us know about those ‘wow’ moments at home so that we can encourage your child’s interests in school.
When children start in Reception, parents will again have lots of opportunities to come and work with their children and find out how to help your child at home.
The school holds Fabulous Finish afternoons each term, where parents are invited to see their children’s learning and share in the wonderful work created through our creative curriculum.
Parents are invited to our Friday celebration assemblies when their child has won a certificate, as well as celebrating house rewards. Regular newsletters are sent out to keep parents and carers informed of what is happening at the school as well as the website, Facebook and the notice board in the playground for PTA updates.
Other very popular and well attended activities are the school Christmas plays, Easter bonnet parades and decorated eggs competitions, Family Mass, Carol Services and other community events. We have a Christmas Fair and a Summer Fair, both events bring the school and the community together as well as raising money for extras for the school.
We take part in many charity fundraising activities, such as the Christmas Jumper Day, as well as national ones such as Children in Need.
Our school offers parents the full range of services for an extended school, such as breakfast club on site, after school clubs and family support worker.
Once a term there is a parent cafe that offers parents an informal opportunity to share school development ideas with the leadership team over coffee/tea and cake.
